 | Greetings from Dallas, TX I’m BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! I know I’ve been a kinda ghost on the newsletter tip due to the insane travel schedule I’ve been on. With that said I’m officially assimilated with tour life and I must say it’s NOTHING like I thought it would be.. It’s 10X betterJ. it’s a lifestyle in and of itself. Now I see how some people can just tour for a living. I embarked on the “Blame It Tour ‘09” with Jamie Foxx on July 2nd and it’s been an amazing ride ever since. We kicked things off in Las Vegas on 4th of July weekend at new “Joint” venue in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and from that point I knew this tour was going to be something special. My band members and the crew have become part of my extended family and I will truly miss them all when the tour is over. Not to mention Jamie tearing up the stage night in & night out plus the slew of special surprise guests that took the stage with us most notably Too $hort in Vegas, Ludacris in Chicago, Drake in Toronto, Jennifer Hudson in Orlando, Dave Chapelle in Dayton & Keri Hilson in Atlanta. I’m sure there will be plenty more surprises before this tour is over! | |||
| How CRAZY were the MTV VMA’s?? this years show was actually the 1st I had missed in a long time due to the fact we had to perform in Philadelphia the night of the awards. I did do a few pre-vma parties though up until that Friday but had to leave for the main event. the funny thing is we were on stage performing while the whole Kanye debacle took place so I had no idea what was going on until we wrapped the show and starting checking my @djirie tweets.. twitterville was going crazy so it didn’t take long for me to get the gist of what had transpired and yes it was a shock to me as well. Moving right along though I’m already looking forward to getting back to my more ‘normal’ post tour life if you can call it that come late October and just in time for the start of Basketball season! The Miami HEAT are going to be rockin’ the AmericanAirlines Arena once again and I’ll be there providing the musical inspiration. Gotta love it!!! For now Football fans are all the frenzy over NFL season and personally this year will be one of the best seasons EVER!! Why you ask? Because the season culminates in MIAMI with Pro Bowl & Super Bowl right in my backyard!! Who doesn’t want to come to a Super Bowl in beautiful Miami??
