IRIE Music Newsletter Vol. #2 - 4th Annual Irie Weekend + Zo & Dwayne Wade's Summer Groove!

Greetings from Sunny Miami, It’s DJ Irie back at it again and I hope this newsletter finds you happy and healthy. I am super excited about at all the things that we have going on at IRIE Music. Please read on to find out more about my Creative Recreation collaboration, the Pepsi Month in the mix, Irie Weekend and more. So I finally got all the designs done for the DJ Irie x Creative Recreation footwear collaboration and they came out ridiculous!! Straight FIRE!! I did my own versions of the Milano, Kaplan & Costra Nostra. The colors and materials are just off the charts. If you happen to be a fan of Creative Recreation footwear already then this is going to be a whole other level for you. My collection will only be released in limited quantities and only in certain areas so stay tuned to be the first to find out where you can get them. What I will tell you now is the release date will be December 1st 2008 right in time for the holidays and all 3 styles will come as a package in a special edition Creative Recreation bag. First look pictures will be released towards the end of the summer and we’re also going to be doing a few parties and special events around the release date where you’ll have a chance to win them before you can buy them.

Things are also getting in full swing with the Pepsi DJ Division and the Month In the Mix launch. Pepsi has declared August the official Month In the Mix and is going to be producing some incredible DJ driven events in cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit, Washington D.C., St. Louis, Chicago, New York… and of course MIAMI. It’s all about paying homage to the DJ and celebrating the art form and the contributions DJ’s have made to urban culture and hip hop music. I’ll be heading to NYC to take part in the kick-off event with pioneer DJ’s Kid Capri, Grandmaster Flash and Jazzy Jeff on July 31st. The MIAMI event will take place on August 8th at Cameo on South Beach so I’ll be hittin’ you with the details on how to be part of it in the next newsletter. Partida, Partida, Partida! I could write a book on the FUN stuff you can do with Partida Tequila! Since I was tapped as brand ambassador for my market we’ve been documenting all the madness we’ve been getting into at our events and we put together a little “wish you were here” clip of last months adventures...check that out here. On Monday, May 12th I’m having a special invite only dinner event hosted by Sophia Partida for the people that are the driving force of Miami’s thriving nightlife. It should be a really interesting night and I’ll be following up with a recap next time. My FAVORITE time of the year is fast approaching! Not only is my birthday right around the corner but the 4th Annual Irie Weekend is almost here! This year we will be having out welcome party & concert, celebrity golf tournament, dinner/gala and after party celebrating Ne-Yo’s album release. I’ll be doing a special Irie Weekend edition of the Newsletter early next month where I’ll go into details on who’s going to be here and how you can be a part of it but for now block off that calendar for June 27 & 28 in Miami Beach and log onto www.irieweekend.com .
