Greetings from Los Angeles, Wow...If I needed any indication of who the new NBA champs were I would just need to lookout my hotel suite window and CLEARLY… the Los Angeles Lakers. I must be the ONLY person in the state of California right now not partaking in this state of euphoria… I’m not a “Laker Hater” (yes I am) or anything like that I’m just SUPER PRO MIAMI and if all else fails PRO FLORIDA J. Congrats to all you Lakers fans out there, your team did what they had to do… BUT if Kevin Garnett was healthy and active in the playoffs would we still have the same outcome??? I’m just sayin’... It’s been a pretty fun time out in LA so far. I out here for a week to get some rehearsal time in for upcoming shows with Jamie Foxx and a performance on the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien (click here if you missed it) These TV shows are an all day affair but usually pretty fun. I’m looking forward to doing the Good Morning America concert series this Friday morning in New York City’s Central Park. Outdoor festival type shows are always a lot of fun so if you can’t be there make sure you tune into ABC Friday morning for the live performance. After New York it’s back to Miami Beach to focus on enjoying my birthday on June 21st (YES gifts are certainly welcome!!) and the 5th Annual Irie Weekend. This year it’s been a huge challenge navigating the economic downturn and the shrinking budgets but we stayed committed to the course and will be producing one of the best Irie Weekend’s ever. All of our efforts go to support the Big Brother’s and Big Sister’s of Greater Miami organization and it’s times like this that it is imperative to step up. It is a tragedy to allow economic pressures to claim the services of an organization responsible for the mentorship of our youth, so it gives me great pleasure to host 3 amazing events this year.
